how do i know if i need therapy?

Therapy isn’t just for people who have problems- we all have our own problems. Therapy is best used when an individual identifies a challenge and wants to make authentic changes to better their experiences of life. Sometimes individuals see the same issues resurface over and over in different forms in their lives and they’re unsure why. In everyday life, these problems are addressed superficially without dealing with their roots, which is why they may continue, despite our best efforts. 

BENEFITS OF THERAPY

So many of us have past wounds that prevent us from living the life we truly want. Sometimes it seems easier to ignore pain and hope it will go away, but without tackling old hurts head on, we can remain chained to the past and unable to move forward. Therapy enables individuals to work through the why of their current experiences to find the root of the problem and address these barriers so we can begin to move forward.

DO YOU OFFER PHONE OR VIDEO THERAPY?

YES. Virtual therapy is much like traditional therapy; however, instead of meeting in our office, we meet using our HIPAA-compliant video platform. The session is conducted similarly to an in-person session, but clients often find it more convenient because it eliminates the time constraints associated with meeting in person.

DOES WHAT WE TALK ABOUT IN THERAPY REMAIN CONFIDENTIAL?

Confidentiality is one of the most important components in therapy, as successful therapy requires a high degree of trust. The discussions between you and your therapist will not be shared with anyone else without your permission, unless you are at risk of hurting yourself or others.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU RECOMMEND SESSIONS?

Consistency is key in making authentic change, therefore, we recommend weekly sessions with your individual provider. We believe in supporting our clients through their change process, so as clients needs adjust, as does the frequency of sessions.

  • Intake Appointments: 45 minutes

INSURANCE - WE SIMPLIFY THE PROCESS

We understand that insurance can be a major consideration for many of our clients. That’s why we strive to make the process as straightforward as possible.

  • Like most private practices in New York City, Manhattan Wellness is an out-of-network provider. That means we don’t accept your insurance directly.

  • Unlike many other practices, we verify your coverage ahead of beginning sessions to ensure you understand your insurance benefits.

  • We also submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf. This makes your insurance reimbursement submissions simpler.

  • In our experience, most of our clients receive back between 60% to 80% of the cost of their sessions, after their deductible is met.

  • If you need further assistance, we’re always here for you.

REIMBURSEMENT - WE ASSIST YOU ALONG THE WAY

PAYMENT
Payment is due at the end of each session. Manhattan Wellness accepts all major credit cards as well as HSA/FSA cards.

SUBMISSION
The moment your credit card is charged, our office submits your session claim directly to your insurance provider.

REIMBURSEMENT
Your insurance carrier will process your claim, just like they would for a medical claim. Once your out-of-network deductible is satisfied you will begin receiving reimbursement checks from your insurance provider.
